For over 50 years Zig Misiak has developed personal relationships within the First/Native Nations and Métis communities. He has studied and learned much about their history and provides curriculum on First Nations studies to schools in Ontario and across Canada.
As President of Real People’s History, Zig has brought his experiences to many committees. We’re thrilled to have him on our committee for Brantford BURST 2017.
To help encourage donations to Brantford Food Bank on race kit pickup day, all donations earn a chance to win draw prizes.
Misiak has generously donated some of his unique publications as prizes.
“We’re encouraging everyone to bring nonperishable food items for Brantford Food Bank. They provide a critical service on our community and we want to help them by providing a prize incentive for those that are able to bring a Food Bank donation with them on Saturday between 2 and 4. We’ll be drawing for a number of prizes including signed copies of my books.”
Each donation will receive an entry so the more nonperishable food items you bring, the more chances you have to win.
Race kit pickup day is September 9th, the day before the event. Ticket holders need to exchange their QR coded tickets for race kits containing their event t-shirts, sunglasses and wristbands. Race kit pickup is from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Brantford and District Civic Centre.
